Why I Teach

I am so excited about being a literacy coach, because I love working with young people and educators. I taught English for eleven years, and I love literature and reading. I received my MLIS as a school library media specialist in 1999. I try to convey this love to the students with whom I work. I also get excited about learning new technology and sharing my knowledge with students and teachers. I became a literacy coach in 2006 for my high school. I now work primarily with teachers and help them with their literacy needs in the classroom.

The Obligatory Bio

I am a Southern girl who grew up in South Carolina. Although I have lived in other parts of the country, I have always loved the southern people and their hospitality. I have been an educator since 1983. I come from a family of teachers, although I didn't enter the profession immediately out of college.
